3. Nonionic: HPMC is a non-ionic cellulose mixed ether. Therefore, it cannot form complexes with ionic substances.

4. Surface activity and enzyme resistance: The solution of HPMC has surface activity and enzyme resistance.

5. Viscoelasticity: HPMC is a semi-synthetic, inactive, and viscoelastic polymer, which gives it unique advantages in some applications.
